After years of dreaming about going to Paris as a little girl then as a teenager, in 2011 I finally had the opportunity to make it a reality. I had recently graduated from my masters degree program and decided that I needed to do something to mark the momentous occasion. It didn’t take a lot of thought to figure out what that something would be. It was a no-brainer. I did some research, figured out my options (go with a tour group or go it alone), and then went head first into planning and saving for my trip to Paris. Thankfully, I ended up taking the trip with my mom and aunt. Initially, I had decided to go alone, there was no way that I could be in a tour group of 20-somethings or in a group at all. I really hate being on someone else’s schedule. At the last minute, my mom and aunt decided to join me.
I had an amazing time. There are so many reasons why this trip, which was my first time out of the country, was so special to me. One of the main reasons was that it was such a tangible example that dreams do come true, no matter how long it takes. Even more important is that I learned when the time comes to make a dream a reality, I will know it, and I will know that it is time to act. I plan to write more about this in the future, but for now I am sharing a few pictures of my dreamy trip to Paris. I hope you enjoy!
